Brita Water Filters

‘Complex, sophisticated, fully integrated Ecommerce– and all under very tight timescales, ‘it’s what we live for!’

The Requirement

For 40 years BRITA has been amongst the leading experts in the field of water optimization. The family business, founded by Heinz Hankammer in 1966, has become a global company employing over 700 members of staff worldwide.

The BRITA philosophy is clear: "Be No. 1 in the sector of water optimization at the point of use." At Bloom Media we like working with companies who want to be number 1 in their sector, we like to think we can be part of that success by offering the best digital solutions available in our market sector.

The UK division of this international company created a ground breaking innovation, the BRITA Filter Tap. The filter tap is a unique invention which allows water to be pumped directly from a household tap, through a BRITA filtration system, and straight into the glass.

Following a competitive tender process Bloom Media were selected as the digital agency to develop and launch the product on the internet.

Key to BRITA’s requirements was the need to integrate the online ordering systems with its back-office ordering process, and to develop an integrated online marketing strategy.

The Approach

Bloom Media developed a phased approach to the BRITA project, ensuring that all key milestones were achieved, and that a strategic, ROI focused online marketing strategy was developed to prove the value of the Internet to BRITA. Bloom Media worked with Brita to identify an appropriate customer relationship management system (CRM) Oracle, and specified a system that fully integrated with the Ecommerce system developed by Bloom Media.

There were three key phases to the BRITA development:

Phase one:  Launch of full Ecommerce website, integrated with: Oracle CMS System, BRTIA back-office order and processing system and marketing tracking software.

Phase two: Launch of co-branded, online affiliate program across some of the top names in retail, including WH Smith, Asda and Argos.

Phase three: Increased control for BRITA of product catalogue and affiliate product management and autonomous control over affiliate set-up for BRITA marketing team.

The Outcome

The project was delivered on-time and on budget under tight time scales. Bloom Media continue to work with BRITA on a variety of online marketing projects, and are currently working on some innovative viral advertising ideas for the further promotion of the BRITA Filter Tap.
