ADT Alarm BoxADT Worldwide is a division of Tyco International and is a leading provider of electronic security services to 8 million commercial, government and residential customers throughout the world. The ADT brand is the largest division in Tyco International with over 50 operations worldwide. Subsequently this makes ADT the strongest brand proposition in Tyco International’s portfolio.

ADT’s website portfolio includes 40+ country specific websites.

Supporting ADT as lead digital agency

ADT needed a digital agency to work closely with their marketing department and wider agency roster. Bloom Media were appointed to this position with an initial role supporting the launch of the ADT consumer proposition and ecommerce platform.

Beyond this initial project ADT were looking for additional ideas and a digital strategy to drive up enquiries and revenue across their business to business and business to consumer lead channels.

ADT Enterprise Interactive Animation

We have worked on 4 main requirements for ADT:

1. Generate traffic to the site

2. Launch a world first ecommerce system for home burglar alarms

3. Get their visitors to engage with their products and learn about the range of services and

4. (of course) generate revenue.

Working closely with product managers, heads of marketing and sales directors, we devised a number of applications to help ADT communicate with their different audiences. For the domestic market, an interactive demo of a typical home was developed to demonstrate how ADT products would help protect home owners from both intruders and fire. This consisted of diagrams and animations detailing the products in a simple visual format. The demo was rolled out over 6 European countries, incorporating 6 different languages.

For consumers wishing to purchase an alarm system, an e-commerce wizard was developed for the UK market. The customer goes through a series of questions to create an alarm system using the right products to secure and protect their property. This little application alone brought in hundreds of orders within the first month of launch.

For the business audience a slightly different approach was required due to the large range of products and solutions. An isometric view allowed users to pan around a building to see how an alarm system should be fitted to meet government legislation. A dynamic contact form was devised that recognised which industry the user originated and the type of solution they were looking for. This ensured the sales team who received enquiries were well informed.

The ADT homepage was given a creative makeover to enhance promotional areas and to draw traffic through to the new applications improving visitor to enquiry and order ratios.

Running across all of these a search engine optimisation campaign was initiated and has taken ADT to the top of Google search results on their chosen phrases, significantly increasing traffic volumes and consequently enquiry volumes and revenue.

Through the development of innovative applications and digital marketing strategies we empower their potential customers with the knowledge and confidence to select ADT to protect their property and ultimately their ability to save lives.

In developing a system that required a complex level of logic to meet the varying needs of the user, we needed to think laterally during the functional specification process about how best to connect complex product and option relationships to business logic and site usability.
